Into Eternity

Winter Break 2008

It was a simpler time.  My friends and I had just finished our first quarter of college, and we couldn’t be happier to hang out with each other.  There were still not many cares in our world.

Stu and I had just finished worship practice, so we headed to Cameron’s house, because Stu needed to drop something off there.  He was still sporting a Cadillac at the time.

It kind of looked like this:

After completing his task, he wanted to show me this song he was really into; “Into Eternity” by Jens Lekman.  He liked it so much that he rolled down the windows and blasted it as we slowly drove by some kids on their skateboards.  We had a good laugh about it.

After listening to it a couple times, it grew on me.  Suddenly, I was really into it.  Not too long after we recorded “Vanilla Clockists”, I asked Stu to send me that song, and it’s been my ringtone ever since.  It’s funny, this song always reminds me of Christmas time.  Which makes it technically my favorite Christmas song.  It always brings me back to that winter break I guess.

YouTube doesn’t have the version I like, so I’ve uploaded it for your listening pleasure.
